Frequently Asked Questions

Your Questions, Answered.

At your initial consultation, you will have dedicated time to discuss your legal issue directly with a lawyer. We will carefully review your case, explain applicable law, and your legal options. This meeting is designed to give you preliminary advice and discuss next steps in your matter.

For certain services, we offer a straightforward flat fee. For more complex matters, an hourly rate applies to ensure dedicated attention to your matter. During your consultation, we will discuss which fee structure applies to your case. Beyond our flat fee services, we cannot provide an amount as each case is different in need and complexity.

Yes. Unbundled legal services, also known as "limited scope retainers," allows you to handle parts of your legal matter by yourself while hiring a lawyer for specific tasks. Instead of full representation, you may seek help with only certain aspects such as drafting a list of documents, providing legal advice, or representing you at a hearing. Book a consultation with us today for a determination on whether we can provide you this service.

For your initial consultation, please bring any relevant documents related to your legal matter.

In British Columbia, lawyers cannot act where there is a conflict of interest. For example, we cannot represent you if we have formerly represented your opposing party. When you schedule a consultation, we will ask for the names of all parties involved in your dispute to determine whether there is a conflict of interest.

Yes. Not all matters end up in a courtroom. At Odunsi Law, we offer skilled representation in alternative dispute resolution, like negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. When necessary, we will also represent you at trial.
