Meet Deborah
As the founding lawyer at Odunsi Law, Deborah Odunsi brings a wealth of experience and dedication to securing the best outcomes for her clients. With a legal career spanning Ontario and British Columbia, she has represented clients across various courts and tribunals, including the BC Supreme Court, Small Claims Court, Residential Tenancy Branch, and the Human Rights Tribunal. Known for her tenacity and commitment, she has successfully advocated for her clients at trial and skillfully settled numerous cases in areas like construction lien claims, municipal litigation, debt collection, and real estate disputes.
When out of the office, you’ll find Deborah exploring new food and cultures; she has visited Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, and the Caribbean. Her global perspective connects her to diverse clients, and brings a fresh approach to complex cases.

- Client Owner v. Tenant-In-Common: successfully defeated occupational rent claim, sole conduct of sale claim, set off debt claim, and obtained costs and 9-1 formal costs.
- Clients v. Township of Langley: Secured return of clients’ animals that were seized under municipal animal control bylaw.
- 1600 Davie Limited Partnership v. ITC Construction Management et. al.: Successfully obtained security for costs against large foreign contractor. See the reported decision here.
- R v. JS: Successfully defeated peace bond request against client.
- Creditor client v. debtor: Successfully secured favourable payment schedule in debt collection matter.
- Contractor v. client owner: Successfully lifted Builder’s Lien from client’s property, settled for 10% of contractor’s lien claim.
- Client owner v. contractor: Successfully settled dispute regarding delay claims, deficiencies, and invoices.
- Client v. joint tenant: Successfully settled dispute regarding partition of property between joint homeowners.
- Client owner v. contractor: Successfully settled dispute regarding change orders and overbilling.
- CUN v. client #1: Successfully struck pleading and obtained special costs for client, bringing case to an end.
- CUN v. client #2: Successfully struck pleading and obtained special costs for client, bringing case to an end.
- Tenant v. landlord client: Successfully dismissed case against client at Residential Tenancy Branch.
- Tenant v. landlord client: Obtained favourable judgment for client at Civil Resolutions Tribunal.
